Welcome to online Poker Page - The one and only
online Omaha Hi resource page. The game of Omaha is fairly new. Some say it originated in 1982. Others say it was played before that, but never on the level of popularity of the 21st Century.
Omaha Hi Poker is a version of Texas Hold’Em, the difference being:
1. Each player receives four face-down cards (pocket cards) to start.
2. At the showdown each player must use two of their four pocket cards and combine them with exactly 3 board cards.
This makes Omaha a 9 card game, with more cards to choose from players will finish by entering the showdown with stronger cards.
The great thing about Omaha Hi/Lo is that someone always has a great hand and any four starting cards can win a portion of the pot. There is not nearly as much waiting for something good to play as you often experience in Hold'Em.

• Pot Limit Omaha Hi (A player can bet what is in the pot. Click here to learn more)

Omaha Hi players must buy-in a minimum amount of chips when sitting down at their chosen table. The minimum limit is usually equal to ten times the lower bet limit of the game. For example on a $2/$4 table the minimum buy-in is $20, on a $20/$40 table the minimum buy-in is $200.
To improve your chances of winning, keep these tips in mind when playing Omaha Hi!
Watch out for the low cards. You are looking for a high hand only!
As there are five community cards to choose from, Straights and Flushes are common.
